Cupro Nickel UNS C71500 70/30 Pipes are consistent in performance even in marine applications. 70/30 Cupro Nickel has excellent resistance to erosion-corrosion. 70/30 Cupro Nickel is virtually immune from stress-corrosion cracking. It is not recommended for stagnant or slow moving (under 3.5-4 ft/s or 1 – 1.2 m/s ) water as it is prone to deposit attack. Readily weldable nature and passivity to stress corrosion makes Cu-Ni 70 / 30 a popular choice. Cupronickel is also resistant to crevice corrosion, biofouling, stress corrosion cracking and hydrogen embrittlement.
